How to Maximixe your Impact by Adding Value to Others



Happy Wednesday! Today, I want to share with you one of the ways you can raise your influence and maximize your impact. In our different roles, we want to be able to influence others. You may be a professional, a boss, a parent, or business owner; you are a leader and you need to make an impact and become more effective. One of the ways to do this is to add value to others. True Leadership is success and leaders add value to others. What does it mean to add value? It's simply serving others. Leaders add value by serving others. When you add value to others, you make things better for them, help them, and provide what they need. What is missing in that person's life? What do they need? and how can you help them? (No I'm not talking about being everyone's savior). Think about your team mates, employees, or clients; what do they need and how can you supply that need? What resources could you offer, what training can you send your employees to, what knowledge can you share with your clients? How can you leave others better than you found them? When you add value to others, it raises your influence with them and this leads to better results and greater effectiveness. As a leader, are you making things better for those who follow you? Organizations that add value to their teams are better in the long run than those who don't. Businesses that add value to their clients and customers are better in the long run than those who don't. Think about it. Here are three guidelines to help you when it comes to adding value, or serving others 1. It's easier to add value to others when we truly value them. When you don't care about others, it will be hard to add value to them. 2. It's easier to add value to others when we truly become valuable. You can't give what you don't have. When you become intentional in growing personally and becoming the best you can be, then you can have something to offer to others. 3. It's easier to add value to others when we know and relate to what they value. Now, it's time to take action:

  • How can you continue to improve yourself so that you can continue to have something to offer to others?

  • In what ways can you begin to add value to your stakeholders, children, team members, colleagues, or clients?

  • What steps can you take to know them better so that you can know what they truly value?
