Summer Reading Business Books What Leaders Read

I hope your summer is going great. Someone had asked me earlier this year to recommend a few books he could read to help him with his performance and productivity. In this Harvard Business Review article, it is stated that the leadership benefits of reading are wide-ranging. Evidence suggests reading can improve intelligence and lead to innovation and insight. Reading makes you smarter through a larger vocabulary, more world knowledge and abstract reasoning skills. Reading is one of the quickest ways to acquire and assimilate new information. Reading helps you grow into a better version of yourself and helps you reach your full potential. If you feel stuck, lack a skill and want to achieve greater success in everything you do, make reading a habit. Here are a few book recommendations:

The 5 Levels of Leadership by John Maxwell - One of my favorite books on leadership. Learn how to move from positional leadership to influential leadership.

The Art of People by Dave Kerpen - Great if you want to improve your people skills, learn how to work well with others, network effectively and build relationships

Fish by Stephen C. Lundin - great for improving team morale and culture

Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso - great biography on going for what you want and succeeding as a female leader.

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield - great if you are afraid to pursue your passion and are stuck achieving your goals

Compound Effect by Darren Hardy - learn about the science of compounding, learn how to improve productivity, and develop good habits that lead to success The Success Principles by Jack Canfield - this book is full of principles that we tend to overlook that will help us breakthrough to personal, business and career success.
