The Correlation Between Gratitude and Success

I hope your week is going great. Before you leave for the weekend, I wanted to pop in and say happy thanksgiving.

As individuals gratitude is something we need to practice consciously and on a daily basis. We tend to focus on the things that go wrong and forget about the things that are going right, or even slightly right…especially in the work place and in business. I believe the practice of gratitude should extend into work and business. What are you thankful for and who are you thankful for at work?

When you have the emotion of gratitude, even for the smallest things, you will want to do what it takes to keep going. When you show gratitude to others, it creates more loyalty, support and better relationships. This year, I started a practice of listing everything I'm grateful for. For me, it has helped me focus on the right things and has helped me take on a winning attitude, despite what else was going on around me. For the coming year, I plan to start listing people I'm grateful for so that I can remember to thank them and show my appreciation better.

  • How can you practice gratitude at work, in business and at home?

  • As a leader, how about prompting your team members to share what they are grateful for, or thank someone during your meetings?

  • As parents, how about starting a family gratitude list?

I want to say a big thank you for being a part of the Growth Studio community. Thank you for reading my blog and have a happy thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with family and friends. “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” -- John F. Kennedy
